HIBERNIA
Thursday: Arrived midday, went to G´s place to pick up the keys, met G and M at St. Stephen´s Green S.C. and walked to Dicey´s in Harcourt St., nice warm and sunny day, people like me in the old times-Formal dress and ties- having their weapon of choice-Guinness and Heineken- , reencountered how feminine the Irish women dress, unlike Spain where they are either joggers or hunters, not a hint of sofistication. Prettier faces, red haired and light eyes, the average attractivenes for me is higher in Ireland. Had dinner in Da Pino´s the sacro-sancto calzone-By the way all the kitchen staff in the trattoria are Chinese...- and a Perroni.
Then to the Dawson,Probably the smallest pub in the world, i liked it because of the carpet and the wood provided a warm atmosfere, imagine there while raining cats and dogs outside.
After that went to The Odeon, where i met Marco S., Pedro C., Gonzalo S. and Adolfo, they are all living well, leaving their jobs for the most peregrine reasons-because the work market there is great!!!!- and what is worst going up in the salary ladder...Up to 45K...There met a Cuban character in his late 40s boasting and saying that he was the first person to present Buenavista Social Club, adding some anecdotes that anyone can read.
Drunk went back home and slept on the floor, wooden floor.

ROMA
Writing again from work…
Listening to a Berkeley podcast: Roman History, very interesting, a bit anachronic one would say given the leaps the excellent Isabelle Pafford and her assistant make. It is good comparing the data with the HBO series, surprisingly the adaptation it’s excellent.
The running days are temporarily suspended due to the weather, rain and wind all the time! And this is the sunny Spain!?But keep doing push-ups.
Ah! Been watching ITV´s Benidorm, it is really bad, with the typical but true English characters, mad about cheap booze, crappy food, bathing with t-shirts on, shaved heads & tattoos…
Last night I lost another concert-third in a row- with the three interesting ones…Because of the rain...
The Strawberry gazpacho wasn’t successful at all, maybe because I didn’t have half of the ingredients and the substitutes, specially the red piquillo peppers instead of fresh red capsicum.
As my cash flow is more than scarce…-Please note the euphemism in scarce- my social live has ben reduced to -0, waiting for the bus has become my favourite past time...okay I will stop trying to be the new woody allen...SAD

DE AGRI CULTURA
that has been in my conversations with friends and family since long time. Odd situation:You don´t know a person but you talk a lot about her and this person does the same, she knew all about my life in Dublin without knowing me!.She is Red Haired, rich, flamenco singer, intelligent, single.
Food at Jabalón:
Toasted bread with olive oil, rubbed garlic, cured ham, fried quail eggs, cutted in a way where you had an egg per portion.
Fried marinated anchovies.
Veal,Ham, cheese and egg breaded and fried rolls-Flamenquin-.
Ribera del Duero.
Two gin & tonics, one at Nuevo Subasta-One of my favourite places in Seville- and the other one at Groucho, the trendy-for-posh-people in town.
Then went back home walking La Palmera -30 minutes- listening to my iPod enjoying the smell of spring in a warm night, at four in the morning.
Saturday watched 30 Rock, had a gin & tonic at Jamaica with friends before the Betis-Barcelona match, almost got a ticket but in a trick of destiny it was LOST-a season ticket-...I like the pre-match atmosphere, traffic jam, police sirens, smell of police horse droppings, hashish cigarettes, sweetness of rum and coke-the weapon of choice of a lot of people now in Spain, not 4 years ago, it´s good at least it is Cuban, Venezuelan, Dominican, Colombian even Spanish rum-Todo queda en casa-, the tanned people from the countryside just down from their buses, the tacky people. Afterwards had Jamón cravings so I went to the supermarket and bought Asturian Cider-I really like it-, bread, Jamón and an Olive Oil pack of crisps. Consumed it all at home listening to my iPod, didn´t want to go out.
Sunday went to the country house, collected ripe lemons for breakfast during the week, mint, thyme, bay leaves, rosemary, lemon and orange leaves. Mother gave me strawberries and tomatoes.
Glimpsed: DE RE COQUINARIA, CARTHAGE, DE AGRI CULTURA, CATO , LIBYA, TUNIS,

Sun, mild temperatures and in the eternal hamlet the indescriptable scent of orange blossom.
Being out of this city for 4 years makes it even more exciting.
Last night met again with the "culture girls" they are astonishing! Exchanged music.
Few beers, one rioja and a malaga raisin wine. Food:Prawn Ceviche with a Sevillian twist, deep fried mushrooms-not very common around here while somewhere it´s the quintessential pub food- and baked provolone cheese. Places: Las Columnas, Álvaro Peregil and Duplex.
Planning a mexican dinner and to create a cineclub.

RURAL
Great BBQ: Lamb chops, ibérico pork sirloin and thin beef steaks.
Dozed at the rear porch, watched a chapter of The Mighty Boosh and finally had a good siesta.
After siesta started reading "The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner", the first twenty pages make you hate the main character, have to go further and see if it changes.
Dug a trench for the aromatic herbs for mum: Thyme, Rosemary, Oregano, Mint, Parsley and Lavender.
We have got a turtle.I like turtles but the earth ones, i had one when i was a child but one day it dissappeared...Pepa, wherever you are please come back!...Now the backyard of that house ,that i remember white, cool and humid because of the well where i played under the medlar while waiting for lunch after the montessori , has become into a cheap shoe-shop. Now also remembered that my blue-eyed granny lived next door and the every night i liked to knock on the wall and wait for her knocking back.
For dinner had beef and soy sauce noodles with a marinade of ginger, garlic, chili peppers and sherry-substituted by Johnnie Walker-.

STELLA MARIS
Had Spanish Omelette made from free range organic hens, the colour is really atomic yellow.
Read Maus over the weekend, actually in 3 hours, the best thing is the complexity of the Vladek´s character, a natural born survivor of the holocaust that turns out to be a difficult and prejudiced old man. That´s the real life there is not white or black , good or bad people just different situations that produces random reactions without a congruent and rational behaviour, well not always but the heroes can be villains at the same time.

Maigret was horrible, perhaps listening to it on the bus stop at 07:30 in the morning was not the best situation...

MARTIN HEIDEGGER
The things liked most was to see his refuge on the hills of the Black Forest and that he had an idea of Europe, as Ortega supposed : a common ground and ideal for most of the intelectuals from this continent.
Now a BBC audiobook of Maigret -Et la vieille dame?-
KOSOVO VS. SPAIN
There are clear contradictions on Spain´s Government first reactions on one hand not recognizing the independence but on the other hand being supported by political parties that seek the secession from Spain.
International Public Law is a Mith!
If you are a World Power you don´t need to comply with International law and if you are not, International Law will not defend you as it´s compulsion it is not structured and automatic.
